For the 2nd year in a row, SQFT Studios is growing (embarrassing) moustaches for Movember, raising money for men’s health. Though the means to raising money may seem silly, the cause is quite serious.
SQFT Studios is proudly participating in the Movember Foundation’s annual Movember campaign, which encourages people to sign up at Movember.com, Grow a moustache, Move and commit to walking or running 60 miles, or Host an event. This support will change the face of men’s health, raising awareness and funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer, mental health and suicide prevention.
Co-founder Schuyler Silva and Project Manager Winston Bischof have sacrificed their faces this year. This is Schuyler’s 3rd year and Winston’s 1st year. Winston has sacrificed a full beard in order to participate.
The Movember Foundation is the leading charity dedicated to changing the face of men’s health in the U.S. and around the world. Best known for their annual Movember fundraising campaign that takes place every November, they operate and receive donations year-round. During Movember, men start Movember 1st clean-shaven and grow only a moustache for the month, getting friends, family and colleagues to donate to their effort. Men and Women can also choose to Move or Host an event.
SQFT Studios is proud to support Movember for multiple reasons. Some members of SQFT Studios have personal connections to those effected by prostate cancer and suicide. We also happen to be comprised primarily of men, so we are all at risk of these issues. We would encourage you to visit our team page and help us meet our goal.
“Having a moustche on your face is a great conversation starter. It gives us the opportunity to raise awareness around these health issues” -Schuyler Silva
Please consider joining us in raising awareness and money for men’s health issues.
